Jeff has been a dedicated mentor in the San Francisco Bay Area for over a decade. Jeff works with music students not only to prepare them for competitions and auditions, but for higher education at academic institutions. Jeff's teaching is to set up music students for double major tracks in college, advocating for the rigor of pursuing music and academia at top institutions simultaneously to shape students for greater success in both. Many of his current and past students have won multiple competitions, held principal positions in youth orchestras including California Youth Symphony and Golden State Youth Orchestra. Many have since continued their college studies at universities including as Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern, Caltech, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and NYU.

In addition to teaching music, Jeff designed and taught the Introduction to Computer Programming course in C++ at California State University, Fullerton, and continues to mentor students to carve paths to careers in software engineering. Several of his past students and mentees have either gone on founding companies of their own or accepted positions at Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Raytheon.
